Help & FAQ

What is Lure Research?
Lure Research is a searchable research tool for historical lure sales, photographs, descriptions, and color-identification references. It is designed to help investigate an item—not to replace your own inspection or professional advice. It is also an ever-growing tool and database that will continue to evolve and grow with time, making it more valuable every month.
How do I search?
Enter a lure name, maker, model, color, code, or other identifying words in Search the Archive. Use the pricing and sorting controls to narrow the results. Open a result to review available photographs, sale information, and research details.
How do I use the Color Identifier?
Choose Color Identifier, select a manufacturer, and search by color code or description. Select a color card to view its photographs and notes. New manufacturers and colors may be added over time.
How do I save Lure Research on my phone?
You can open Lure Research on your phone like any other URL by going to research.mybaitshop.com. You can also use it more like an app by saving it to your home screen:
iPhone: Open Lure Research in Safari, tap Share, scroll down, then tap Add to Home Screen. Confirm the name and tap Add.
Android: Open Lure Research in Chrome, tap the menu button, then choose Add to Home screen or Install app.
Saving the icon creates a shortcut to the same live tool. It does not create a separate account or copy of the data.
Note: If you use the shortcut and it appears stale, occasionally delete it and reinstall it so your device picks up the latest version.
How can I suggest a color addition or correction?
Send the manufacturer, color code, color name or description, model information if known, and supporting photographs or references. Identify exactly what should be added or corrected and include the page or record where you found the issue.
If you would like credit, say so and include the name you would like displayed. Credit is optional and may be omitted when requested.

Can I send photographs or research material?
Yes. Send only material you own or have permission to share. Tell us the source, photographer or contributor name, and any restrictions. Do not send private customer information, payment details, or images you are not authorized to provide.
Submitting material does not automatically transfer ownership. We will confirm any requested use, attribution, or permission before incorporating it into the tool.

Can I use the photographs and research in Lure Research?
Lure Research is for personal research and permitted account use. Do not copy, scrape, republish, redistribute, resell, or use the content commercially without written permission. Also, sharing of login credentials and passwords is prohibited. This is tracked. Please understand the considerable amount of work that has gone into this project and continues to go into maintaining and updating it. We appreciate and depend on your subscriptions.
Why does a price or result look different from another sale?
Prices can vary because of condition, originality, packaging, timing, venue, discounts, promotions, shipping, tax, and incomplete information. Displayed statistics are comparison and educational aids, not guarantees, appraisals, or promises of future value.
How do subscriptions and Daily Passes work?
Choose the plan that fits your use. Monthly access renews according to its Stripe terms. A Daily Pass provides short-term access and does not carry over or credit toward a monthly subscription. Use the billing-management link supplied by Stripe to update payment details or cancel.
What should I do if I cannot sign in?
Use the email address associated with your account, request a new confirmation or password-reset email, and check spam or junk folders. If the problem continues, contact My Bait Shop with the email address on the account and a brief description of the issue. Never send a password or full payment-card number.
How do I report a broken image, incorrect record, or missing color?
Contact My Bait Shop with the manufacturer, code or record title, and a link or screenshot if possible. For image problems, tell us whether the image is missing, incorrect, duplicated, or too small to identify. We will review corrections before changing the shared research database.
How do I contact you?
Use the current My Bait Shop contact method listed on the business website or in your account communications. Include a clear subject, the relevant manufacturer or record, and enough detail to reproduce the issue. Do not include passwords, full card numbers, or other sensitive information. Otherwise you can reach us at: kb@mybaitshop.com
